The high carbon content of 440C stainless steel makes it have good cutting and wear resistance. It also has excellent corrosion resistance and can resist the erosion of a variety of chemical corrosive media. 440C has excellent hardness due to its high carbon content. Through heat treatment and quenching, hardness of HRC 58-60 can be achieved, giving it excellent cutting ability and wear resistance. In addition, 440C has a high chromium content and excellent corrosion resistance in most acidic and alkaline environments.
